Introduction |
Over the last few years, legislation related to waste management has been developed, emphasizing the use of resources (minimization, optimization of production processes, reuse, recycling, energy recovery, etc.).
An important aspect to take into account in the fruit and vegetable packaging sector is the extended responsibility of the producer: it is the producers of the products that become waste with use, who must assume responsibility for their management. Packaging manufacturers are responsible for accrediting the composition of their packaging and the percentage of recyclability or other possible forms of recovery.
In this context, the ECOWOOX® certification is based on Royal Decree 1055/22 on packaging and packaging waste to certify recyclable packaging.

He joined the team at the Instituto Tecnológico more than 20 years ago, going through the positions of pre-doctoral researcher (FP1 grant from the Ministry), technician of the Environment Laboratory, Head of the Environment Laboratory and Head of the Section of Technologies and Chemical Analysis (Department of Materials and Products), since he has been in office since 2016. |
