MACHINING BY CHIP REMOVAL (UC2): HOW TO PREPARE MACHINES AND SYSTEMS TO PROCEED WITH MACHINING BY CHIP REMOVAL

Develop professional activity in the Production Department dedicated to Mechanical Manufacturing in companies, both self-employed and employed.

Introduction

For a correct production of products, it is necessary to carry out the machining processes by chip removal, controlling their quality and taking responsibility for the first level maintenance of machines and equipment, with criteria of quality, safety and respect for the environment.

This course corresponds to Competence Unit No. 2 of the Professional Certificate "Machining by Chip Removal".


 

Addressed to

Active workers and unemployed people from the Valencian Community interested in these issues.

Objectives

- Obtain the technical information required for manufacturing, interpreting the drawing of the part and the manufacturing drawing.

- Establish the machining process from the exploded views and technical specifications, ensuring the feasibility of machining.

- Select the tools and tools required for machining depending on the type of part and the machining process.

- Determine the tools required to fasten parts and tools, ensuring feasibility, optimizing the process and meeting the established cost objectives.

- Assemble tools and systems for clamping the pieces in accordance with the established process and the applicable PRL regulations.

- Assemble the accessories or feeding devices of the machines to proceed with the machining by chip removal according to the manufacturing order and complying with the applicable regulations on PRL and environmental protection.

- Carry out the computer numerical control (CNC) program to proceed to machining by chip removal from the order and manufacturing process.

- Carry out the first level maintenance of the machining equipment and installations by chip removal according to the instruction manual, the applicable PRL regulations and environmental protection.

- Assemble the pieces on the tooling using the established tools and tools, complying with the applicable PRL and Environmental protection regulations.

- Machining with machine tools for chip removal or manufacturing lines, obtaining the required quality and complying with applicable PRL and environmental protection regulations.

- Dimensionally verify the mechanized products according to the established standards and procedures and complying with the applicable PRL and Environmental protection regulations.

Contents

1.Verification of tools and tools in machining:
• Verification of the optimal state of the tools.
• Checking of clamping tools and accessories.
• First level maintenance of the machine.

2. Assembly of manufacturing systems for chip removal, tools and tools:
• Assembly of clamping systems: clamps, plates, claws, dividers, between points, flanges, magnetic tables, etc...
• Fastening of tools, tools and accessories.
• Assembly preparation: tools and tools necessary for chip removal machining.
• Pressure regulation and flow direction.
• Regulation of tools and accessories.
• First level maintenance of tools and supplies.
• Mechanization of the part holder tool (if applicable).

3.Calibration of tools and tools for machining:
• Measurement of tool parameters.
• Introduction of the measurement parameters in the tool table.
• Preparation and adjustment of clamping tools.
4. Positioning and layout of parts for machining:
• Definition of the reference surfaces and positioning of the part.
• Optimum clamping of the piece.
• Piece layout techniques.
• Execution of layouts of the part.

5.Handling materials in the manufacturing process:
• Handling and transport of materials.
• Description and handling of transport tools.

6. Chronological programming of CNC machining:
• Work planning.
• List of CNC programming functions and machining operations.
• Coding and sequencing of machining operations by chip removal.

7. Preparation of CNC programs for machining:
• CNC languages.
• Optimization of CNC machining programs.
• Description of factors that influence the programs.
• Construction and structure of a program: blocks, syntax, format of a line of a program.
• Description of the standard nomenclatures of axes and movements.
• Definition of coordinate systems, absolute coordinates or incremental coordinates.
• Establishment of origins and reference systems.
• Selection of work plans.
• Description, execution and codes of auxiliary functions.
• Definition of the types of movements: linear, circular.
• Tool compensation: concept and examples.
• Programming of preparatory functions: rounding, chamfers, exits and tangential entries.

8. Advanced CNC programming for machining:
• Parametric programming.
• Program adapted to High Speed ​​machining.

• Programming of 4th and 5th axis.

9. Computer or machine simulation of machining:
• Management at user level of PC's.
• Configuration and use of simulation programs.
• Menus to access machine simulations.
• Optimization of the program after seeing defects in the simulation.
• Correction of program syntax errors.
• Verification and elimination of errors due to collision.
• Optimization of the parameters for an increase in productivity.

10.Data transmission to the CNC machine:
• Introduction of CNC machining programs in the machine tool.
