"SIMBA 19-20"

SIMBA- SMART MAINTENANCE SYSTEM BASED ON THE REAL STATUS OF THE EQUIPMENT

DESCRIPTION

The final objective of the project is to develop an intelligent system to analyze the operation of two specific classes of machines (printing presses and automatic lathes), based on the real-time information provided by a set of sensors that measure various equipment variables. This intelligent system, located on an ad-hoc platform, will be accessible to any company in the sector that follows the previously defined measurement protocols, and the results of the predictions can be displayed continuously by each user company.

OBJECTIVES

The general objective of the project is to develop an intelligent system for analyzing the operation of a specific class of machines (stamping presses and turning and general purpose lathes), based on the real-time information provided by a set of sensors that measure various equipment variables. This system will be located on an ad-hoc platform so that it will be accessible to any company in the sector that follows the previously defined measurement and communication protocols. The results of the analysis will serve as support for decision-making regarding maintenance actions to be undertaken and may be viewed continuously by each user company of the platform.

The specific objectives are:
a- Define a methodology for the selection and measurement of critical variables in each type of machine, including type and quantity of sensors to be used and its most favorable location to collect the desired events. This methodology will serve as a “measurement protocol” for companies that want to monitor their equipment and use the intelligent measurement system (SIMBA).

b- Develop a process of evaluation and debugging of the data collected by the sensors. In the processes of data capture and conservation there are some typical problems, such as data lost due to communication problems, problems related to sensors (noise, measurement peaks) or problems related to their calibration. This process of "completing and enriching" data should be designed and carried out systematically and transparently to the user.
c- Develop an effective data transmission system so that the system can automatically feed on them in the planned communication cycles.
d- Design a user interface that clearly informs about the real situation of each monitored equipment, and warns about deviations from the normal operating condition.

The system will be evaluated with two pilot companies that will implement the intelligent maintenance system based on the actual state of the production equipment
