"NIMBLE" NIMBLE - COLLABORATION NETWORK FOR INDUSTRY, MANUFACTURING, BUSINESS AND LOGISTICS IN EUROPE DESCRIPTION NIMBLE will develop the infrastructure for a cloud-based, Industrie 4.0, Internet-of-things-enabled B2B platform on which European manufacturing enterprises can register, publish machine-readable catalogs for products and services, search for suitable supply chain partners, negotiate contracts and supply logistics, and develop private and secure B2B and M2M information exchange channels to optimize business work flows. The infrastructure will be developed as open source software under an Apache-type, permissive license. The governance model is a federation of platforms for multi-sided trade, with mandatory interoperation functions and optional added-value business functions that can be provided by third parties. This will foster the growth of a net-centric business ecosystem for sustainable innovation and fair competition as envisaged by the Digital Agenda 2020. Prospective NIMBLE providers can take the open source infrastructure and bundle it with sectoral, regional or functional added value services and launch a new platform in the federation. Internet platforms need fast adoption rates and the work plan reflects this: we start attracting early adopters from day one and develop the initial, working platform in year one. Added-value business functions follow in year two and final validation at large scale, involving hundreds of external companies, will happen in year three. Our adoption plan is designed to enable two or more platform providers at the end of the project, and to have 1000 to 2000 enterprises connected to the overall ecosystem at that point. NIMBLE has 17 partners grouped around 3 main activities: developing the infrastructure, running a platform adoption program, and validating the platform with 4 supply chains (white goods, wooden houses, fashion fabrics, and child care furniture). This Project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement No. 723810 OBJECTIVES The ultimate goal of NIMBLE is to develop a federated, multi-sided and cloud services-based business ecosystem that supports: to. B2B collaboration for industry, manufacturers, business and logistics; b. ICT-based innovation of products and evolution of traditional business models; C. federated, competitive yet interoperable instances of the platform The high-level objective of the project: federated platform providers give different sectors or regions a platform instance for B2C, B2B and M2M collaboration. The regional or sectoral platform instance is capable of interoperating with other platforms in the federation via semantic interoperability services that are shared by all. Specializations would be necessary to account for sector specific practices and standards, and localizations may be necessary to deal with national laws, regional practices and preferences regarding official languages. Therefore, NIMBLE needs to achieve the following objectives: 1 create a platform ecosystem to attract early adopters: providers, vendors, buyers, collaborating using federated platform instances; 2 ensure ease of entry and initial ease of use with quick rewards; 3 grow platform usage by showing the benefits and by adding services where the need arises (release early, release often); 4 master the usage of the platform step-by-step to evolve business cooperation; 5 from the earliest steps to master-level, ensure trust, security and privacy. It has been a very ambitious and at the same time very complex project. As a result, in the particular case of AIDIMME, together with FEVAMA and MICUNA, we have been developing a Marketplace that would be useful for the Habitat sector and we have achieved it! There are currently more than 250 registered companies. Among the companies registered in the marketplace there is a wide variety of suppliers of wood, veneers, boards, hardware, paints, machinery, textiles, cardboard, etc... As well as furniture manufacturers of all types, as well as carpenters, installers, designers, …as well as logistics providers and service companies for the sector. This is what we call the B2B Market Ecosystem. The marketplace is now fully operational, offering the following benefits: • Belong to a sectoral B2B. • Offer products and/or services. • Contact and negotiate quickly and easily, expanding the network of suppliers and collaborators. • Increase visibility and brand awareness, being able to access a much larger audience. • Create new business opportunities, through a new sales channel, with a larger audience than on the websites themselves. • Create and maintain effective alliances and commercial collaborations, improving response times. • Involve people from the company itself, through the different access profiles (purchases, sales...). • Increase in innovation capabilities. Structured by sectors, activities, and products and services, B2B Market is easy to use and has a simple interface that allows you to register and after verification and validation, you can start publishing your catalog, progressively complete the rest of the required information and begin to carry out negotiations, without reaching the payment as such but visualizing the traceability of the collaborations carried out with the companies, both in purchases and sales, having a control panel for analytics. Any company that works in the habitat sector can register, whether it is an installer, product designer, interior designer, prescriber, supplier of materials/components and/or services, including logistics. Companies can upload their catalogs through the company profile and initiate appropriate contacts for new collaborations, being able to rate the collaborations carried out, generating a system of truthfulness.
