RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF NEW TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS FOR THE REDUCTION OF STRESS AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF COMFORT IN THE INTERIOR OF AERONAUTICAL CABINS. NON-STRESS CABIN
DESCRIPTION
The main objective of the project is the search for new technological solutions to reduce stress and improve comfort inside aeronautical cabins.
In this way, an R&D project was proposed in 2012, both for fundamental research (activities related to laboratories, contributing to the expansion of scientific knowledge), for experimental development (obtaining new or technologically improved products and systems in relation to already existing) and transfer of results to the traditional manufacturing sectors of wood-furniture, textiles and leather.
OBJECTIVES
The specific objectives from the 2014 annuity are:
• Detection of sensory preferences of passengers related to the equipment inside an airplane: seat, aromas, textures, temperature, sounds, space, etc.…
• Development of different systems for capturing variables such as temperature, pressure, etc. Non-intrusive integrated in the passenger seat and compatible with the standard environment and current regulations for the parameterization of the degree of comfort / stress of the user.
• Functionalization of the different surfaces of the interior of the aircraft, by releasing in a controlled way active principles that provide passengers with a feeling of relaxation, thus reducing the degree of stress of the occupants of the cabin.
• Acoustic conditioning, both from the exterior, as the result of internal vibrations, from the passenger environment for the reduction of the feeling of stress ... Improvement of the thermal behavior of materials, pursuing, on the one hand, greater capacity thermal insulation and on the other hand, a pleasant thermal sensation in the parts that can be touched by passengers.
• Design and development of a Virtual Environment (software) for CAVE system, which allows the visualization of the interior of an airplane cabin, and the interaction with virtual products of this environment, in prototype facet.
• Review of the scientific literature and analysis of the ergonomic aspects of the proposed technological solutions.
As a parallel objective, the coordination of the offer of the R&D activities of the Technological Institutes is established to achieve an orientation of this knowledge applicable to the entrepreneurial initiative based on the expectations of future competitiveness of the Valencian economy. This facilitates the reorientation of the offer of services and R&D of the Integrating Technological Institutes according to the needs of the aeronautical market (end user) thus resulting in the competitiveness of the companies of the Valencian Community, especially the wood-furniture, textile and leather sectors.
Specific:
• Alignment of the strategies of the Technological Institutes, individually and collectively.
• Identification, prioritization and dissemination of an area of future specialization for the Valencian Community.
• Exploitation of complementarities between the participating Technological Institutes, in terms of knowledge, services, technologies, equipment and own lines of research.
• Promotion of joint actions among the Technological Institutes, among which is the present project.
RESULTS OBTAINED
2012 Year: Base study: state of the art in research, review of applicable regulations and user needs.
2014 Year: Research and development of an intelligent seat for parameterization and improvement of the degree of comfort.
2014 Year: Research and development of surfaces with controlled release capacity of chemical agents for the improvement of environmental psychology inside the cabin.
2014 Year: Research and development of advanced acoustic and thermal insulation systems. Increase the volume inside the cabin.
2014 Year: Integration of technological comfort / stress solutions. Development of an intelligent environment for the interior of aeronautical cabins.
2015 Year: Simulation and validation of aeronautical comfort / stress cabins. Use of virtual reality systems for technical, psychological and sensory validation of intelligent aeronautical cabins of high comfort.

2014 Year: Study of ergonomic conditions after technological solutions.
Year 2014: Coordination, promotion and dissemination.
