"FGVA EC0 OSICV 24" OSICV - OBSERVATORY OF INDUSTRIAL SYMBIOSIS OF THE VALENCIA COMMUNITY DESCRIPTION The Industrial Symbiosis Observatory of the Valencian Community (OSICV) plays a fundamental role in the transition towards a circular economy in the Valencian Community, encouraging and promoting collaboration between companies, institutions and other entities in the industrial sector. It is an IVACE initiative, which arises with the objective of consolidating the Valencian Community as a reference in circular economy and industrial symbiosis at a national and international level. AIDIMME assumes the technical secretariat of this Observatory, carrying out coordination tasks of the governance committee formed by IVACE itself, together with the Valencian Business Confederation (CEV), the Council of Chambers of the Valencian Community, and REDIT. Throughout the year, the OSICV proposes to continue the different activities developed in previous years, highlighting the active participation in the collection of data for the OECD world report on circular regions, the celebration of the 3rd Industrial Symbiosis Meeting in Alicante and continuity in revitalization activities to promote industrial symbiosis initiatives in companies with collaboration with associations and management entities of industrial estates, through visits, participation in conferences and workshops. During 2024, the first catalog of industrial symbiosis initiatives of the Valencian Community will be published and active participation will continue in working groups of international experts on the subject. OBJECTIVES The general objectives of OSICV correspond to the promotion of the concept of industrial symbiosis in the Valencian industry, facilitating good local practices and demonstration initiatives, and proposing specific action plans. • Promote the concepts of circular economy and industrial symbiosis as business tools. • Ensure that the results of related initiatives and projects are communicated and disseminated to a wide range of local/regional actors. • Understand and exchange good local practices derived from said initiatives/projects, as well as the barriers or problems encountered. • Support synergies and demonstrative elements. • Periodically update the action plans that the Observatory initiatives have in place and propose a single coordinated action plan in the medium term.
