"FGVA I40 0 - DIGIBOT2"

FGVA I40 0 - DIGIBOT 2 - DEVELOPMENT OF DIGITAL TWINS IN ROBOTIZED OPERATIONS

DESCRIPTION

The digital twin of a robot arm will be developed so that it can be operated virtually by a user, and the robot responds in real time.

OBJECTIVES

• Define the specifications of a system that allows remote management of robots for manufacturing processes, through the use of mixed reality technologies, integrating it with robotics control software.
• Develop hardware equipment and specific virtual reality software applications, integrating them with robotics control software in a collaborative room environment, for virtual visualization and management of a robotic arm.
• Develop robot handling tests by simulating common tasks in the industry, specifically pick&place and collaborative assembly tasks.
• Promote the participation of the center and companies in national, European and international projects.
• Identification and analysis of the center's R&D lines, through the analysis of information and participation in different committees, platforms, work groups and prospective visits to other reference R&D Centers in the field of this R&D line. +D.

Project Number: 22300005
Grant Agreement: IMAMCA/2023/2
Duration: From 01/01/2023 to 31/12/2023

Coordinated in AIDIMME by: SÁNCHEZ ASINS, JOSÉ LUIS
R&D Line: INDUSTRY 4.0

RESULTS OBTAINED

Year 2023: Description of the developed interface When the user starts the DIGIBOT application, they are in an immersive space in which they can see the ground, the UR5, the logo signs and, if they look at their hands, they will see the Touch Meta Quest 2 Controller. Using the Touch controller in the appropriate way, the user can control the robot; by including successive waypoints, the user will generate a path that the robot will follow. Being in a three-dimensional immersive environment, the user has the ability to move around the robot, allowing him to observe with great precision what the exact path of the robot will be. If the system used a traditional flat screen, many situations would be found in which the user You cannot appreciate the point well, or you may confuse it by not being able to correctly appreciate the depth. Finally, DIGIBOT also allows the use of tool action points. When entering one of these, the robot program will first move the tool to this point and then perform an action, this action depends on the selected tool. In the above case, it is a clamp, so an action point will open or close the clamp. In the following image you can see how easy it is to program with DIGIBOT a program that makes the robot approach a point, pick up a piece, transport it to another point and place it. User tests In order to verify the usability and the elimination of entry barriers to the application that DIGIBOT represents, different people have been asked to use the application to develop a robot program. After these tests it can be seen that DIGIBOT offers a much more intuitive interface for robot programming since users are able to generate complete robot programs after only a few minutes using the application.
