"FGVA - EC0 OSI-CV" OSICV - OBSERVATORY OF INDUSTRIAL SYMBIOSIS OF THE VALENCIA COMMUNITY DESCRIPTION The Industrial Symbiosis Observatory is a technology transfer and Competitive Intelligence tool aimed at collecting, filtering and disseminating relevant information on Industrial Symbiosis to facilitate its implementation in companies in the Valencian Community. OBJECTIVES 1. Promote the development and application of the concepts of Industrial Symbiosis (SI, hereinafter) in the Valencian Community. 2. Identify the best practices in IS and create a structure for the generation of primary information for its promotion in the Valencian industrial fabric. 3. Monitor the evolution of the IS in the companies of the Valencian Community. 4. Guide industrial policies and actions to promote IS in Valencian industry. Project Number: 22100013 Grant Agreement: IMAMCC / 2021/1 Duration: From 01/01/2021 to 31/12/2021 Coordinated in AIDIMME by: SALES VIVO, VICENTE R&D Line: CIRCULAR ECONOMY RESULTS OBTAINED Year 2021: The Industrial Symbiosis Observatory of the Valencian Community has begun its activity in 2021, contemplating four areas of action: 1) governance and transfer area; 2) the diagnosis and evolution of SI in Valencian Community; 3) business and industrial policy implications; 4) the promotion of IS in the Valencian industry. In the first year of operation, the actions carried out have allowed us to define the map of governance and public-private participation, with organizations of the Generalitat Valenciana and the main Valencian business entities. To this end, a Coordination Committee has been established made up of IVACE, CEV, Council of Chambers of C.Valenciana, REDIT and AIDIMME, with monthly monitoring and coordination meetings. Phase 1 of a diagnostic study on the starting situation of Industrial Symbiosis in the Valencian Community has been carried out, which has made it possible to identify the degree of initial knowledge, practices carried out by companies, barriers and current needs, counting on the participation of 277 industrial companies from 7 productive hypersectors: agri-food industry, construction materials, textiles and clothing, wood and furniture, metal, plastic and rubber, and waste. Regarding the implications of business and industrial policy, international trends of success cases in Industrial Symbiosis have been collected, international experts have been contacted to form a Delphi consultation panel on the future evolution of Industrial Symbiosis in four areas (technical , legal, economic and institutional), and a matching (connection) workshop has been held between companies at the local level with a Valencian city council. Finally, actions have been carried out to present the Observatory with sectoral organizations (primary sector, logistics, etc.) and where the in-person conference organized with the entities of the governance and participation map stands out. Likewise, articles have been published to disseminate these actions and an Observatory web portal has been designed with sections on news, legislation, R&D&i projects and success stories.
