"SYMBINET" SYMBINET-PORTAL INDUSTRIAL SYMBIOSIS INITIATIVES DESCRIPTION The project aims to develop an intelligent digital ecosystem portal / prototype to promote Industrial Symbiosis Initiatives in companies in the Valencian Community, as one of the key tools to support the circular economy. For this, SYMBINET will focus, on the one hand, on the investigation, analysis and detection of advanced sectoral and intersectoral functionalities of the industrial companies of the Valencian Community in the field of Industrial Symbiosis. And on the other hand, in the development of an integrated ecosystem of specific modules and other computer applications that favor intersectoral collaboration between companies in the Valencian Community. OBJECTIVES The project aims to strengthen the Industrial Symbiosis in the Community, through the development of a portal to promote Industrial Symbiosis Initiatives in the companies of the Valencian Community through an architecture integrating specific modules that enhance intersectoral collaboration between companies. The project will include the development of three demonstrators that serve as a model of industrial symbiosis actions. In addition, this project will focus on the following aspects, on the one hand: • In research, analysis and detection of advanced sectoral and intersectoral functionalities of industrial companies in the Valencian Community in terms of Industrial Symbiosis: SYMBINET framework. The implementation of SYMBINET-ECO (from ecosystem), as a prototype of a portal, modular ecosystem, which serves to validate on a small scale with companies the goodness of the SYMBINET framework and possibilities of automating its processes. • And in development of three specific demonstrators of each industrial sector for the implementation of SI actions in order to show companies their applicability. SYMBINET-ECO will rely on the INSYLAY platform as a source of information on the relationships and potential synergies that may arise between the different industrial sectors, and will be integrated with specific modules. The scientific objectives are: • Investigate, analyze and detect needs in Industrial Symbiosis among companies in the Valencian Community. • Identify sectoral and intersectoral INDUSTRIAL SYMBIOSIS strategies. • Deepen the sectoral study of possible SI initiatives. • Promote the participation of companies in the Valencian Community in Industrial Symbiosis initiatives through the development of an Industrial Symbiosis ecosystem. The objectives of SYMBINET-ECO, in terms of functionality, are: • Provide advanced functionalities through the portal and adapted to the sectorial needs of companies. Developing a collaborative space where any company can make available its underutilized resources, promoting the application of the circular economy. • Promote the concept of Industrial Symbiosis through ecosystem piloting. • Establish indicators adapted to the theme that allow measuring the evolution of the concept of SI among companies in the Valencian Community.
