"INSYLAY 3 19-20" INSYLAY 3 INDUSTRIAL SYMBIOSIS LAYER AT INDUSTRIAL ZONES DESCRIPTION The INSYLAY project aims to implement sustainable cooperation models between industrial companies, in order to obtain a more efficient production and lower environmental impact, by applying a methodology based on the concept of industrial symbiosis. This methodology will be materialized in a web platform that will contemplate a series of resources that range from aid to the search and analysis of possible synergies in the stages of production, transport and supply, to the possibility of creating a nursery of initiative projects related to industrial symbiosis. The application of symbiosis models in industrial companies is proposed through a methodology of levels, from less to greater possibility of synergy, seeking the objective of achieving maximum efficiency in the use of resources in the area and as a tool for a new economy model circulate in the industrial fabric. The INSYLAY methodology has been developed taking into account the cataloging of companies based on their interest in the participation of symbiosis activities. The methodology takes into account 3 types of symbiosis levels: -S1 (symbiosis 1): companies interested in sharing resources. -S2 (symbiosis 2): companies interested in taking advantage of the outputs of other companies as inputs to their production process. -S3 (symbiosis 3): maximum level of symbiosis that may involve the development of an R&D project or service to take advantage of inputs / outputs from one company to another OBJECTIVES The main objective is the development of level 3 (maximum level of symbiosis) that will contemplate the design and development of a technical, economic, environmental and legislative feasibility tool to guide companies in the planning of a related R&D project or service with industrial symbiosis. The specific direct objectives related to the development of the project are: • Promote and raise awareness among companies in the Valencian Community regarding industrial symbiosis and circular economy. Raise awareness about the opportunities of the circular economy through symbiosis to the different agents involved. • Identify business opportunities between companies in the same industrial area so that leftover resources are valued, learn to share to save, innovative solutions are sought to take advantage of resources and knowledge is shared. • Teach SMEs in the Valencian Community how to take advantage of possible synergies that can be established between them (identify the synergy pathways and analyze their possibilities). • Identify obstacles that companies can find in the development of symbiosis initiatives, through the prior technical, economic, environmental and legislative evaluation of these initiatives. • Generation of a project nursery (offers and demands) related to the improvement of sustainability. • Strengthen collaboration with competent entities and administrations related to the theme of the project. • Have different resources included in a web platform with the global objective of materializing the concept of industrial symbiosis. • Development of a multisectoral roadmap for industrial symbiosis that allows establishing the basis for the realization of the symbiosis concept.
