VIRTUAL CIRCULAR ECONOMY LABORATORY
DESCRIPTION
The Circular Economy line highlights as a new initiative the creation of a VIRTUAL CIRCULAR ECONOMY LABORATORY, MATERIALIZED IN AN INNOVATIVE PLATFORM designed to help companies transform underutilized resources into new opportunities with greater added value.
This new platform will also be a MEETING POINT FOR COMPANIES interested in improving SUSTAINABILITY AND MINIMIZING THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF THEIR ACTIVITIES, where they will find available resources and tools developed by AIDIMME such as SIMBYLAY, CIRCULARIZA and CIRCULATOOL, PASSOS)
Through GIRO and its digital platform, any company can input an available material (whether waste, byproduct, or underutilized resource) and discover potential ways to add value to it. For example, textile fiber waste could be transformed into acoustic panels, insulating materials, or lightweight composites, opening up new sustainable business lines.
The core of the system will be a module capable of analyzing the characteristics of a given resource and, through queries to a constantly growing technical and regulatory database, generating a personalized roadmap that includes valorization alternatives, necessary processes, technologies involved, regulatory requirements, potential industrial partners, and required technical validations.
Furthermore, work will continue on the Observatory of Industrial Symbiosis of the Valencian Community, as a reference point on the subject of industrial symbiosis.
OBJECTIVES
To create an innovative digital platform, a technological space to drive the transition to more sustainable production models. It will act as an integrating environment for key solutions and tools related to the Circular Economy (e.g., Circulariza, Simbylay, Passos, among others).
Design and develop circular economy roadmaps that include valorization options, necessary processes, technologies involved, regulatory barriers, potential industrial partners, and required validations.
Implement Artificial Intelligence by developing a module capable of processing information to generate customized roadmaps according to the user's needs.
OBJECTIVES OF THE OBSERVATORY OF INDUSTRIAL SYMBIOSIS OF THE VALENCIAN COMMUNITY:
Continue the activities of the Industrial Symbiosis Observatory through the promotion and development of Industrial Symbiosis solutions among Valencian companies.
To promote the development of industrial symbiosis initiatives in the Valencian Community through proof-of-concept testing and the acquisition of knowledge from experiences developed in other regions and their subsequent publication in the Catalogue of Good Practices of Industrial Symbiosis.
Actively participate in the working groups of experts in Industrial Symbiosis: Industrial symbiosis group within the framework of the COST project, Industrial symbiosis group within the framework of CCRI (Circular Cities and Regions Initiative).
