"FEDER ODISEA3D"

ODISEA3D - OPTIMIZATION OF DESIGN, MATERIALS AND MANUFACTURING OF CUSTOMIZED AND SUSTAINABLE MEDICAL PRODUCTS THROUGH ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING.




DESCRIPTION

Regarding AIDIMME, the proposal falls within the Technologies and Processes area, which encompasses the development of technological solutions based on additive manufacturing, also known as 3D printing. The objective is to transmit knowledge of materials, technologies, and industrial applications with personalized technological advice, facilitating implementation in industry.

OBJECTIVES

The objective of the ODISEA3D project is to generate knowledge around the development (design, materials and manufacturing) of tailor-made medical devices, taking advantage of the possibilities offered by 3D printing, from a broad perspective by generating new knowledge through non-economic R&D activities, which add value in each of the phases that make up the development process of a tailor-made medical device for each patient.
This approach aims to address the emerging needs of companies in the Valencian Community's medical device sector regarding the design, materials, and manufacturing of medical devices tailored to each patient.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
New methodologies will be developed to optimize the design of personalized medical devices, using tools such as Grasshopper for semi-automated design adapted to the patient's anatomy. In addition, biocompatible metallic materials with controlled stiffness through additive manufacturing will be investigated, seeking to improve sustainability. Work will also be done on new biocompatible polymer formulations for 3D printing, optimizing manufacturing parameters in MEX and VAP technologies. Finally, the properties of sustainably manufactured implantable and non-implantable medical devices will be evaluated.
