"OSIPAT 3" PROJECT OFFICE OF INDUSTRIAL SYMBIOSIS FOR THE INDUSTRIAL AREAS OF PATERNA - OSIPAT 3 DESCRIPTION The Paterna Industrial Symbiosis Office is a resource available to businesses that aims to promote, through training, technical advice, and personalized support, the identification and implementation of industrial symbiosis opportunities among companies located within the municipality of Paterna. The services offered include: • The creation of meeting and networking spaces between companies to detect potential synergies. • The analysis of material, energy and waste flows that can be used by other companies in the area. • Advice on the implementation of technical, logistical or administrative solutions that facilitate collaboration. • Promoting good practices and success stories that can inspire other entities in the municipality and beyond. The project is funded by the Paterna City Council and Paterna City of Businesses; AIDIMME has received a direct grant of €50.000 within the framework of the Collaboration Agreement established between AIDIMME and the Paterna City Council (based on the Paterna City Council's Strategic Subsidy Plan). OBJECTIVES To promote and encourage the participation of companies in the municipality of Paterna in industrial symbiosis initiatives, establish strategic alliances with educational institutions and research centers to foster innovation; provide advice and technical assistance on the subject, as well as facilitate and promote the participation of companies in the municipality in proof-of-concept projects. To achieve these objectives, the development of informational materials, the updating of the website for the industrial symbiosis office to encompass the various resources available to companies, and the development of a promotional image/brand for the companies were proposed. Project Number: 22500037 Grant Agreement: 044/2025/10 Duration: From 01/01/2025 to 30/11/2025 Coordinated in AIDIMME by: ANIORTE MARTINEZ,ADRIAN R&D Line: CIRCULAR ECONOMY RESULTS OBTAINED Year 2025: The Paterna Industrial Symbiosis Office (OSIPAT) has consolidated its role as a key tool for promoting the circular economy in the municipality. Its activities have included providing technical assistance to local businesses, with the aim of identifying symbiosis opportunities and optimizing resource use. These activities have enabled the collection of detailed information on processes, waste, and needs, increasing the number of entities with potential synergies in Paterna to 300, disseminating the industrial symbiosis model, highlighting opportunities for technological innovation, and seeking external collaborations. Furthermore, the project has been complemented by outreach and awareness campaigns, including an institutional event coinciding with the inauguration of the Municipal Business Services Center (CMSE) and OSIPAT's physical headquarters. The event brought together representatives from the City Council, AIDIMME, and REDIT, solidifying Paterna's position as a regional leader in the circular economy. Informational materials (brochure, roll-up banner, corporate video, and new logo) have been produced, and digital communication has been strengthened through social media and press releases, increasing the project's visibility. In Phase 3, technological research has been promoted through the preparation of ten technical data sheets on technologies applicable to industrial symbiosis (such as pyrolysis, anaerobic digestion or optical separation), and the website www.simbiosispaterna.es has been renewed. Phase 4 has strengthened external collaboration, with agreements linking industrial symbiosis with the educational and social spheres. A notable example is the collaboration between Maderas Barber and the IES Henri Matisse school, which reuses surplus wood for educational purposes. Furthermore, the addition of REDIT as a strategic partner expands the innovation network, connecting the eleven Technological Institutes of the Valencian Community with local businesses. In Phase 5, a section for grants and subsidies has been added to the website, centralizing public calls for proposals related to the circular economy and resource efficiency, and strengthening financial support for businesses. In addition, a recognition system has been created through the issuance of seals by OSIPAT, distinguishing the level of involvement of organizations within the Office. Phases 6 and 7 have addressed the preparation of the final report and the annual report, along with the management and coordination of the project, ensuring the technical, administrative and communicative coherence of all actions.
