MODECEL - DIGITAL ENERGY MODELING TO PROMOTE THE RATIONAL USE OF ENERGY IN LOCAL ENERGY COMMUNITIES




DESCRIPTION

Create a work methodology that gives rise to the systematized development of digital energy models of buildings that allow the analysis of the energy state and support in the decision-making process associated with the implementation of energy efficiency improvements in residential buildings and buildings belonging to the sector tertiary, including energy communities. Likewise, the new energy management solutions, which include the use of thermal envelopes built with bio-materials and recycled material, are validated in a relevant demonstration environment, for which the project also seeks to demonstrate the viability and advantages of this type of developments through a relevant pilot

OBJECTIVES

This project aims to promote the efficient use of energy in energy communities through the development and validation of different solutions focused on the rehabilitation and energy management of buildings. Specifically, this project seeks to promote the development of solutions to improve energy savings in buildings and identify what additional measures can be adopted to achieve it. This general objective encompasses the following specific objectives:

SO1. Identify what measures and actions can be implemented and promoted in energy communities to favor the rational and efficient use of energy
SO2. Knowledge of the behavior of the new development of prefabricated elements of natural origin in a demonstrative environment with specific geographical characteristics and orientation
SO3. Acquire energy modeling capabilities for buildings, focusing development on thermally characterizing the energy behavior of envelopes and other passive elements, as well as evaluating the impact of incorporating clean technologies to cover the thermal and electrical demand in this type of environment.
SO4. Develop a simulation-based methodology to facilitate energy assessment and support decision-making associated with the implementation of energy efficiency measures and actions in buildings.

SO5. Develop an application that allows residential users to become aware of their use of energy with the ultimate goal of promoting behavioral changes that contribute to achieving the environmental and energy objectives set by the community of which they are a part.

SO6. Evaluate different criteria for the distribution of renewable generation present in an energy community based on different cases and develop a tool that allows systematizing its calculation.

All the solutions that will be addressed within the framework of the project will be validated in a relevant demonstration environment, so the project also seeks to demonstrate the viability and advantages of these developments.

RESULTS OBTAINED

Year 2023: Project Results Report

Deliverables:   


Year 2023: The results are:
•Savings of 65% in the fastening of prefabricated parts compared to prototypes.

•Improvement of the monitoring system using sensors and a weather station to evaluate the operation of the construction solution and the information it offers to the user to modify the rest of the parameters in search of the best energy efficiency in SATE or SATI.

•Improvement in thermal insulation MODECEL Wall vs Existing Wall.

•Based on an energy certification calculation, an annual saving for 250 m2 of offices is estimated to be 39,5% overall, which translates into energy savings close to €1 per year. This improves the overall level (C vs D) on the building's energy classification scale by one level.

•The exterior insulation system eliminates thermal bridges of slabs and columns embedded in the façade.

•User response guide to sensor information.

•Collaboration with companies in the industrial sector of the Valencian Community for the industrialization of the elements.

•Due to the leaching study of the manufactured mortar, it is concluded that the substances leached by the new mortar after its different hydration stages, which would be released either to the soil or to groundwater, would not present a risk to the ecosystem or human health.
