"TITAN" TITAN - DEVELOPMENT OF A HIGH PRODUCTIVITY PROCESS FOR TITANIUM WITH MULTILASER ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGIES DESCRIPTION At present, additive manufacturing is undergoing a very rapid evolution, this implies improvement in terms of productivity, repeatability, mechanical performance and dimensional precision. Metal additive manufacturing machines based on powder bed have evolved in recent years, improving the energy source capable of fusing the powder, even so it is being difficult for companies to incorporate these technologies into their production process because a part manufactured with these technology is economically more expensive than a conventional process. It is possible to reduce the cost of the parts manufactured in an additive way if a suitable design is carried out, reducing the excess material as well as reducing the sacrificial material (support) that must be included for a correct manufacture. AIDIMME has worked on numerous projects where it has been shown that an adequate design is essential for the inclusion of these technologies in companies, such as the CUSTOM ON BODY project (IMDECA / 2017/84) and the SKIN project (IMDEEA / 2017/133 ). The TITAN project wants to go one step further and improve productivity by reducing manufacturing times not only with a design adapted to the manufacturing process but also by improving the strategy and manufacturing parameters that influence the fusion of the metal powder in each layer. . In this way, more competitive parts will be obtained since their manufacturing time has been reduced, they have a suitable design and the surface quality and mechanical properties of said parts are guaranteed. OBJECTIVES The general objective of the TITAN project is to obtain a high productivity manufacturing strategy for obtaining titanium parts. A comparative study will be carried out of high productivity processing versus processing with standard parameters with specimens, artifacts and demo pieces.
