"AGROFOREF" AGROFOREF - OBTAINING CHEMICAL COMPOUNDS FROM AGROFORESTAL WASTE THROUGH BIO-REFINING PROCESSES FOR USE IN THE WOOD, FURNITURE AND CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY. DESCRIPTION During the execution of the AGROFOREF project, the revaluation of certain by-products of the agri-food and forestry industry will be investigated in order, through different biorefining techniques, to obtain bio-products that have properties of interest to the industry and, especially, to the wood sector. furniture and construction. These bioproducts, for example, could have biocidal properties, with wide spectra of fungicidal, insecticidal and even bactericidal activity, in addition they could also present other interesting properties for the sector such as improved behavior against fire, the possibility of functioning as fillers, etc. OBJECTIVES The general objective of the project is to provide companies in our sectors with bio-compounds, which provide properties of interest to their products, such as biocides, fungicides, fire resistance, loads, etc. obtained from the biorefining of residues and agri-food by-products. The specific objectives of the project are: - Identify and quantify the residual forest and agricultural biomass of the Valencian Community. - Determine what residues are of greatest interest for processing. - Investigate the chemical compounds available in these wastes and their production processes. - Develop and optimize laboratory-scale processes to obtain chemical compounds. - Characterize the chemical products obtained for possible use at an industrial level. - Apply and evaluate the action of the products obtained for substrates in the wood-furniture and construction sector. - Effectively disseminate the project and its results. - Transfer and promote the results to companies in the Valencian Community, choosing the most appropriate channels so that the transfer has the greatest possible impact. Subsequently, these extracts were characterized and validated properties of interest for the industry and, especially, for the wood, furniture and construction sector, such as: biocide, hydrophobicity and fire resistance.
