"CU-NI-CR"CU-NI-CR- MODIFICATIONS ON THE COATING PROCESS CU / NI / CR OR CU / NI TO IMPROVE YOUR ADHERENCE PROPERTIES ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() DESCRIPTIONThis project focuses mainly on the experimental development of a possible alternative method for the sub-stage of polymeric material biting, prior to the deposition of metals, by chemical route, on these materials. This experimental development will be based on using an advanced oxidation process, such as Atmospheric Plasma, to modify the surface of the polymers, studying later how this process affects the characteristics of the resulting coatings (mainly adhesion) with respect to those obtained by existing classical methods. OBJECTIVESGeneral objectives: ![]() EXPLANATORY VIDEORESULTS OBTAINEDYear 2020: During the development of this project, the programmed tasks have been carried out to achieve the initially proposed technical objectives. Regarding the new development of etching on plastic (ABS and / or ABS / PC) with application of atmospheric plasma, it has been found that the plasma etching conditions used do not allow the subsequent galvanic coating stages. For these metallic coatings to be deposited, it is necessary that, previously, the substrate is activated by means of the colloidal palladium anchor. The morphologies obtained with the plasma used do not allow this activation of palladium, although they have a roughness that initially seems to be a good base for the application of other types of coatings. On the other hand, a battery of procedures has been developed that allow the characterization of the metallic Cu / Ni / Cr coatings in a repetitive, reproducible way and with traceability to the International Measurement System (SI) that guarantees the quality of the measurements made. .
