Introduction |
The Innovation Workshop is a forum to put project technology developers in direct contact with potential end-users in order to accelerate the market introduction of the LIFE Waste2Coag solution.
Many emerging technologies face the so-called "valley of death"; this is a phase during their development in which validation on an industrial scale, with end users, would be very valuable and would facilitate their introduction into the market.

Objectives |
The LIFE Waste2Coag project (Brine and Metal WASTEs valorisation TO produce COAGulants for wastewater treatment) aims to demonstrate an innovative and cost-effective technology – the Electrolytic System (ELS) – based on the electrolysis of brines and metal waste for the production of coagulants. These coagulants can be used in urban and industrial wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) as an alternative to commercial coagulants.
The LIFE Waste2Coag project is aligned with and contributes to the European Circular Economy Action Plan, Green Deal Communication, European Union (EU) Strategy on adaptation to climate change and the Roadmap to a Resource Efficient Europe, among others. |
Content |
This workshop will focus on the technological development of the LIFE Waste2Coag solution for its application in industrial wastewater treatment plants.
The workshop will present the results of the implementation of the technology in an industrial WWTP (including the operation of the ELS and the demonstration of the use of coagulants in the industrial WWTP),
other potential applications of ELS technology, and the ambition of the project partners to bring ELS technology and the coagulants produced to the market.
