Introduction

3D printing, formally called Additive Manufacturing, is increasingly present among the general population. More and more machines are appearing at affordable prices that allow their purchase, even at a private level. But using them is not as simple as pressing a button. It is important to highlight that new technologies and new machines are appearing that allow to obtain parts of higher quality, faster and with greater dimensional precision.

Goals

Attendees will learn about various economically affordable 3D Printing technologies based on cast yarn and resin technologies. After the course they will know their scope, how to work with them and how they work. Highlighting the latest developments in this type of technology.

Contents

- Introduction to economically affordable 3D Printing / Additive Manufacturing technology: Characteristics, properties and main applications
- Technologies of fusion of polymers of extrusion of material: Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF): Technical explanation of the process and basic principles of operation, materials and technical characteristics of the pieces.
- Resin photopolymerization technology: Liquid Cristal Display (LCD): Technical explanation of the process and basic principles of operation, materials and technical characteristics of the parts.
- Practical session to understand both processes in situ from the preparation of manufacturing trays, to the process itself and required post-processes.

More than twelve years developing work in additive manufacturing of polymers in different technologies available at AIDIMME. Technician responsible for the following polymer additive manufacturing technologies, FFF, DLP, SLA and the latest addition MJF. 6-year teaching experience in additive manufacturing courses in training cycles and short-term personalized courses. The purpose during the course is to bring additive manufacturing technology closer to the student in order to actively involve them. Active person, involved and passionate about new manufacturing methods.
MARTINEZ CENICEROS, MARIO
 
Research and development engineer, participating in European and national projects at AIDIMME. Focused on Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) and working on various Additive Manufacturing technologies such as EBM, PBF for metals and polymers, SLA, DLP, CFF FFF and LCD. Work to improve additive manufacturing machines due to previous experience in product design, mechanical simulation, and advanced manufacturing technologies. Great connoisseur of the current scenario and evolution of the field of additive manufacturing and its applications. Outgoing and persistent person who faces each challenge as an opportunity for learning and expanding knowledge.
