Introduction |
The basic idea of ecodesign is to rethink the design of products or services in a way that has the least possible environmental impact. It is necessary that we have a life cycle approach to all that product or service that we want to eco-design.

Objectives |
General objective:
Know what ecodesign means and how to develop products according to their guidelines.
Specific objectives:
Provide the keys for the incorporation of ecodesign in the company through the following specific objectives:
- Know from a general perspective, the concept of sustainability, and the environmental impacts associated with the current consumption model.
- Know the main potential benefits for companies associated with the ecodesign methodology.
- Know the various alternatives for product environmental improvement applicable to products in the furniture wood sector.
- Understand the need for environmental product evaluation tools, the various types depending on the objective pursued and available resources.
- Know the life cycle analysis methodology and in particular the concept of product carbon footprint.
- Understand the classification of the various types of existing ecolabels and main characteristics of each of them.
- Use ecodesign, life cycle analysis and ecolabels as a competitive advantage in public procurement tenders. |
