"AUTOCON"

ADVANCED SYSTEMS AND MATERIALS FOR 3D PRINTING IN CONCRETE

DESCRIPTION

3D printing is in an implementation phase in the industry internationally, detecting unexpected problems and challenges in all sectors, including construction. One of the biggest challenges faced is the need for specific materials, since traditional mortars do not meet the demanding needs of the concrete or mortar 3D printing (3DCP) industry in the desired way. To this end, this consortium seeks to overcome the limits of current technology through the research and development of innovative mortar formulations with additives, providing technical characteristics specifically designed for 3DCP (rapid setting, low thermal conductivity, and low environmental impact).

OBJECTIVES

The AUTOCON project's general objective is to research and develop innovative technologies for 3D printing in concrete. To this end, the development of sustainable functional cement-base materials and the improvement of current additive, mixing and finishing systems for the extruded mixture will be addressed.
