"PTFOR 2021-2022" PTFOR CONSOLIDATION, SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS AND GREEN DEAL DESCRIPTION The forestry sector was one of the sectors that seized the opportunity to establish a PTE and during 2004, they jointly developed a proposal for a "Technological Platform for the Forest Sector" (TFP). The founding international organizations, the Confederation of European Forest Owners (CEPF), the European Confederation of Wood Processing Industries (CEI-Bois), the European Confederation of Paper Industries (CEPI) and the public forest owners (EUSTAFOR), represent the main "value chains" in the sector, ie forest, wood and pulp and paper. OBJECTIVES Establish the lines of technological development necessary to consolidate the Spanish forestry sector as an organized, innovative and job-creating sector, capable of improving economic, environmental and social performance, and guiding the sector towards the Sustainable Development Goals. INCORPORATION OF NEW MEMBERS. Consolidate PTFOR as a Spanish reference by creating a critical mass of companies and other agents in the sector to develop joint strategies and update the analysis of the needs and opportunities in research and innovation in the sector and provide it with coherence, business orientation, social challenges and actions of industrial leadership. OE2. NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL VISIBILITY of the Spanish forestry sector and related industries, connecting its entire value chain in its different lines and promoting innovative associations, and its revitalization by promoting its participation in R&D&I financing programs and favoring the achievement of economic returns, as well as other more intangible ones, the result of cooperation with companies and entities from other countries. OE3. DISSEMINATION AND COMMUNICATION. Increase recognition of the value of the Spanish forestry sector and the Platform among its members and public administrations and Spanish society in general; for example with participation in the National Forestry Congress (https://8cfe.congresoforestal.es/) OE4. STRATEGIC RESEARCH AGENDA. Review the Spanish Strategic Research Agenda in the forestry field and its derived industries, in those Value Chains that consider it necessary, to adapt it to the SDGs and coordinate the efforts of all existing actors in said field, as well as in view of the Spanish and regional Public Administrations.
