"GVA OPTIPACK FUNDS" GVA PCK0 - OPTIPACK - INVESTIGATION OF THE SUSTAINABLE OPTIMIZATION OF PACKING SYSTEMS FOR HANDLING AND TRANSPORT DESCRIPTION One of the strategic lines of action carried out by AIDIMME focuses on the field of research and development of packaging systems, and consists of research into packaging materials and elements to improve their physical-mechanical efficiency, their safety and their sustainability, considering all the risks associated with the transport and distribution of the products. The OPTIPACK project focuses on the identification and investigation of the factors that have a greater impact on the optimization and sustainability processes of packaging systems. OBJECTIVES The main objective of the project is the development of an analysis, classification and evaluation tool that allows establishing the main parameters of improvement of a packaging system, to achieve its optimization. This main objective is linked to the secondary objective of minimizing as much as possible the number of samples to be evaluated so that the developed system meets the sustainability criteria. This main objective will include the development of: CONTROL SYSTEM OF THE PHYSICAL-MECHANICAL RESISTANCE PARAMETERS, for single-use wooden pallets. Development of the "OPTIPACK PALET" tool Deliverables:    Year 2020: SINGLE-USE WOODEN PALLET CLASSIFICATION TOOL, BASED ON CONSTRUCTION CRITERIA. We have established our own methodology for the initial analysis of single-use pallets, which has allowed us to: • Compile the main dimensional and construction parameters. • Detect manufacturing and material quality defects. • Classify the pallets based on their characteristics. • Carry out an initial grouping by maximum load levels.
