"NOTOXIC II" RESEARCH OF TOXICITY OF MATERIALS AND PRODUCTS. TOXICITY OF TOX0 MATERIALS DESCRIPTION Different sub-lines of research have been studied: implementation of the brand on metal and wood materials in contact with food, as well as improvement or development of methods for determining the migration of some substances in wooden articles. The state of the art on the contamination of waters by micro-plastics has been studied and the possibility of the reuse of plastics in some pieces of furniture has been studied. OBJECTIVES Expand and update the knowledge related to the toxicity of habitat materials in their different aspects (food contact, indoor air quality, decreased toxicity of materials, etc.), trying to find methods to reduce exposure due to their use. Promote the participation of the center and companies in European and international projects. Identification and analysis of the R&D lines of the center, through the analysis of information and participation in different committees, platforms and working groups. At the same time, work has continued on the study of the specific migration of different substances (methods, adsorbents, contact times, etc.). Water toxicity As new substances are synthesized that help us in different fields of life (detergents, medications, additives, etc.), the possibility of these substances contaminating different water resources increases. In this section, work has been done to improve the detection limit of these emerging substances using chromatographic techniques. Circular economy In the manufacture of furniture, plastic materials of different qualities are used. In this sense, we have begun the study of this type of material (plastic), its uses in furniture manufacturing, the necessary qualities and possible contact with the skin in its intended use.
