"DISSWELD 18-19"DISSWELD - DEVELOPMENT OF LASER-BASED DISIMILAR WELDS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF LIGHT STRUCTURES IN AUTOMOTIVE DESCRIPTIONThe purpose of the DISSWELD project is to obtain dissimilar plates intended for the automotive auxiliary sector by means of a welded laser joint made of aluminum steel material. The growing demand of the sector to reduce pollutant gases and the weight of transport vehicles has forced companies to innovate in terms of joining methods and materials used. Fruit of this are the manufacturing methods called Tailor Welded Blanks and the advancement of high strength steels. Through these techniques we can reduce weight and increase resistance. The result of this manufacturing philosophy is to increase weight reduction even further by implementing aluminum as a key material due to its excellent properties of mechanical strength and lightness. During the execution of the project it is intended to find the most suitable methods for welding aluminum and steel sheets by laser welding. The project opens a new opportunity to manufacture hybrid components capable of granting a combination of capabilities not yet present in the industry. This project aims to make known to the companies of the Valencian Community both technical and economic data and thus be able to justify the decision to undertake production processes that allow them to be at the forefront of the use of dissimilar materials. Obviously those companies that manage to position themselves in this field will have a privileged position in the future of the metalworking industry. OBJECTIVESThe main objective of the project is to achieve dissimilar welds of high strength steels and light alloys - aluminum type, using laser technology. For this, a series of specific objectives are established: TRACTOR COMPANIESThanks to its support and signature of the "declaration of participation" the project has been funded. COMPANIES DIFFUSION R&D PROJECTSThey want to know first-hand the evolution of the project, and its progress to the final result. COMPANIES TRANSFER KNOWLEDGEThey will implement technologies, develop strategies or look for new models based on the results. |
