"WIREWOOD 18-19" WIREWOOD - RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF AN INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION PROCESS ON WOOD AND BOARDS DERIVED FROM CONDUCTOR PAINTS OF ELECTRICITY. DESCRIPTION The objective of the project is the development of an industrial process for the application of conductive paint on wood or derived boards, so that technical furniture can be manufactured without using cables to connect the electrical components OBJECTIVES In the furniture sector there are aesthetic, technical and economic barriers for furniture manufacturers to put on the market technical product that incorporates some kind of functionality linked to the use of electronic components. As already described, these types of barriers limit the incorporation of companies in the sector to a smart products market within an IoT environment, leaving them out of consolidated trends in the home such as home automation, or some more recent ones such as Smart Home As shown in Figure 1, all these barriers are related to the need to integrate the connection wiring of the different electronic components into the furniture (loss of initial aesthetics and increased costs for new machining operations, as well as mounting to accommodate and hide cables). To reduce these barriers, the general objective of the project has been defined as the development of an industrial process for the application of conductive paint on wood or derived boards, so that technical furniture can be manufactured without the need to use cables to connect the electrical components . The general objective of the project is articulated by the following specific objectives: - Characterization of the electrical properties of the material on different substrates (wood and derived boards). - Characterization of the ability of the material to maintain its functionality after subjecting the painted substrate to the typical finishing processes in the furniture sector (plating, lacquering, etc.). - Development of an industrial process of application and use of material on wood and derived boards. - Design, development and manufacture of prototypes of technical furniture that incorporate electronic components connected by tracks painted on wood.
