"HABITRANS" HABITRANS- DEVELOPMENT OF INTERMODAL LOADING UNITS FOR THE TRANSPORT OF THE MIX OF HABITAT PRODUCTS, INTEGRATING PROTECTIVE ELEMENTS AND INTELLIGENT DEVICES FOR DETECTION OF PRODUCT BREAKS DESCRIPTION There is a growing demand on the market by the prescribers of the products of the habitat sector (architecture, decoration, etc.) companies, of synchronization of the supply chain of the sector to make perfect deliveries to the final customer in due time and manner. , especially in projects of the contract channel outside Spain where compliance with deadlines and an exhaustive cost control is required. The solution involves joint and synchronized shipments of products betting on intermodal transport, taking advantage of new infrastructure such as the Mediterranean corridor. However, the groupage transport of the habitat product mix presents the problem of a high rate of breakage. These are products with different dimensions, weights, and fragilities, which in the same intermodal loading unit, cause the most robust products (for example, a ceramic pallet) to strike more fragile ones (furniture or lighting). OBJECTIVES The general objective of the project is to develop a new intermodal loading unit for the groupage transport of the habitat product mix. This new intermodal loading unit will make available to the sector the best technical conditions to take advantage of the economies of scale of the joint transport of its products and guide it towards competitive improvement in order to take advantage of the opportunities that new infrastructure such as the Mediterranean corridor can reach offer. The general objective of the project is articulated by the following specific objectives: - Development of a new recording device of different transport parameters such as vibrations, shocks, temperature, humidity, etc., equipped with intelligence for the detection of damage to any of the products of the habitat transported. - Integration into the intermodal loading unit of the new registration device developed. - Identification of actions, solutions and physical methods for the adaptation of the intermodal loading unit to the needs of the different products of the habitat, according to the risks identified through internal protections or specific stowage systems. - Characterization of the risks in the distribution by intermodal transport of the products that make up the mix of the habitat sector together in the same cargo unit, such as in particular the railway container.
